Description

General Description: As part of our Food Distribution Programs team, The Mobile Market Coordinator reports to the Distribution Manager. This position plays an important role in supporting the Mobile Market Program which addresses hunger and nutrition in under-served communities. The Mobile Market program identifies where there are gaps in service in the emergency food network and provides neighbors with healthy food options across our 29-county service territory. 


 


Essential Functions:



  • Responsible for development and ongoing implementation of all mobile market activities to increase access and participation in the Mobile Market Program.

  • Responsible for an assigned portfolio of mobile market program partnerships throughout the service territory to include onboarding, training, audits, and meeting assigned goals.

  • Participate in designing and supervising the monthly schedule of the Mobile Market Program.

  • Oversee and coordinate mobile market distributions including event planning and coordination, oversight, audits, etc.

  • Work with various organizations and non-profits to schedule efficient distribution events, managing logistical components such as registration, volunteers, traffic control, food safety, etc.

  • Work with operational efforts to include but not limited to warehouse, inventory, and transportation to ensure proper preparation and execution of mobile market events.

  • Address neighbor and community concerns as it relates to mobile distributions including handling grievances, troubleshooting issues, etc.

  • Monitor and ensure appropriate guidelines are followed in the implementation of the markets. Collect all relevant and appropriate data in adherence to all appropriate Feeding America, USDA, TDA and other required guidelines.

  • Monitor the compliance of the mobile market in observing areas such as client intake, food allocation and equity, food safety, customer service, etc.

  • Assist all participants of a mobile market event with direction and support.

Qualifications

Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university preferred but not required (relevant experience may be substituted for college degree); high school degree or equivalent required.

  • Two years of non-profit program or related experience, including direct client services experience preferred.

  • Bilingual- English & Spanish preferred.

  • Commitment to the San Antonio Food Bank’s mission of fighting hunger and feeding hope through work, word, and action, while keeping clients as the focal point.

  • Understands and values equity as an organizational operating principle and is committed to continued learning on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Knowledge of racial justice, social equity, and systemic racism; sensitivity to issues and concerns of communities of color and other diverse groups.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Computer literate- primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Professional demeanor and high degree of literacy.

  • Ability to multi-task and play close attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting of strict deadlines.

  • Ability to manage time efficiently and to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Good judgment and discretion.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Willingness to travel across SAFB service territory and ability to utilize GPS to navigate travel.

  • Availability to work flexible hours to include some weekends/holidays, and to support disaster response efforts.

  • Ability to work in all inclement weather conditions to include but not limited to heat, cold, wet outdoor environments.

  • Possession of a current Texas driver's license, liability insurance and a clean driving record.

  • Access to reliable transportation.

Work Environment


This job is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and frequently will require attendance at outdoor events. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
