Overview






The CNC Programmer plays a key role in the manufacturing process, responsible for creating program files for CNC routers and waterjet tables to cut metal and plastic parts. This position requires a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of CNC software and production processes.

Responsibilities






  • Program signage parts using CNC software for both simple and complex sign assemblies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Read and interpret job tickets and work orders, following specific fabrication instructions and preparing files for CNC routing.
  • Set up and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time production and adhering to quality standards.
  • Prepare and manage production files for large-format digital printers, routers, and benders, ensuring color matching (using systems like PMS) and media profiles are accurate.
  • Perform inspections of files for accuracy before production, ensuring quality and error-free outputs.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records of production work and update inventory usage.
  • Assist in troubleshooting daily production issues and collaborate with co-workers to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Utilize industry-standard design software (Corel Draw, FlexiSign, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, LED Wizard) to prepare and edit production files.

Qualifications






  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience, with knowledge of CNC programming.
  • Proficiency in pre-production file prep, with experience using CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, FlexiSign, AdFlexi, or EnRoute software.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle various file formats and ensure production readiness.
  • Experience with CNC router tables are preferred, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are highly valued.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of design theory, typestyles, color theory, and media preparation.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to stand and demonstrate fine dexterity for handling objects and tools.
  • Occasionally required to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and hear.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
