Overview
We seek a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as a Basic Security Fundamentals (BSF) Instructor. The successful candidate will possess the necessary experience, knowledge, and skills to effectively deliver training in a military environment, specifically within the context of the U.S. Navy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality training sessions on basic security fundamentals to Navy personnel.
• Utilize advanced training techniques, including Classroom Management, Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs), and strategies for student motivation.
• Apply computer technology effectively in instructional presentations.
• Maintain high standards of technical knowledge and professional competence in training delivery.
• Operate proficiently within a military environment and understand the U.S. Navy’s organizational structure, rank/grade hierarchy, and military terminology.
•Ensure the morale and motivation of students and instructional personnel are maintained at maximum levels to foster a conducive learning environment.
• Maintain personal and professional standards of competence equivalent to those of Navy military personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Two years of experience as an instructor delivering training.
• Knowledge of basic and advanced training techniques, including classroom management, CATs, and student motivation strategies.
• Proficient in the application of computer technology for instructional purposes.
• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the U.S. Navy, including military rank/grade structure and shipboard/installation environments.
• Ability to perform effectively in a military environment.
Education and Certification Requirements:
All instructors must possess one of the following:
• Completion of the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) or military service equivalent.
• Academic credentialing (teacher/professor).
• Instructor training through an academic institution, covering at minimum the following learning objectives:
• Effective communication and questioning techniques
• Adult learning theory and principles
• Instructional delivery methods
• Lesson delivery performance laboratory
• Training environment management
• Interpersonal skills
• Evaluation and feedback
Additional Requirements:
• Certification through CENSECFOR-provided instructor qualification training and as a Non-Lethal Weapons – Basic Instructor (NLW BI).
• No NCIC criminal record of conviction.
Must have been a certified federal, state, or municipal law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years of operational patrol experience or a certified military law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years of operational patrol experience. Alternatively, must have instructed military law enforcement or military security tactics within the previous two years.
