Position Purpose:

Under direct supervision, the Warehouse Associate Lead position coordinates dock activities and, as time allows, helps dock operations and housekeeping. This position will have input on the inbound and outbound unload/load of all materials, including supplies  (location, process storage, etc.) and will have regular contact with the internal logistics team and external freight carriers.


Key Job Activities:

• Coordinate and direct the daily activity of forklift drivers and warehouse workers.

• Help coordinate all outbound and inbound loads, as needed.

• Answers receiving door and coordinates/directs transporter to dock door for unload, chocks trailers, verifies seal numbers on trailers, completes paperwork (witness sign, wise number attached, etc.), releases transporter when unloading or loading is completed.

• Relates issues to logistics team regarding any issues with securement of loads.

• Informs logistic team when loads are ready to ship or when loads arrive.

• As time allows, assists with other dock operations and housekeeping.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

• Demonstrates the ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and dolly.

• Demonstrates the ability to drive equipment in close quarters.


Education:

Preferred Education: in High School or Equivalent

Experience:

• 2+ Years of Experience, preferably in a warehouse environment.

• Ability to operate equipment: forktrucks/forklifts) and technical ability to operate a hand cart/2-wheel dolly and pallet jack.

• Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications, including handheld and shipping software.

• Demonstrates the ability to observe safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

• Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow health and safety directives and performance and conduct standards, policies and procedures that apply to the role and location.

• Demonstrates the ability to present ideas in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas and questions.

• Ability to identify and understand employee & customer needs and take appropriate actions to ensure those needs are met.

• Proactively searches for ways to increase customer satisfaction.

• Ability to persist with a specific course of action.

• Must be willing to commit the necessary time and effort to complete work assignments and do a quality job.

• Ability to work with & for others in a team environment, giving direction at times.

• Demonstrates the ability to take and follow directions from others.
