Technical Accounting Manager

Duties/Responsibilities: 



  • Support the preparation and review of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP. Assist in the preparation and review of footnote disclosures, MD&A and supporting documentation for quarterly and annual financial statements.  



  • Review calculations for all non-GAAP measures, including Adjusted EBITDA, Distributable Cash Flow and Free Cash Flow.  



  • Assist in the review of the Company’s financial statement consolidation (monthly, quarterly, annually), including intercompany accounts and eliminations. Work with the accounting and finance teams to resolve identified issues. 



  • Research technical accounting and reporting matters and write technical memorandums for transactions in areas such as revenue recognition under ASC 606, lease accounting under ASC 842, goodwill and intangible assets, purchase accounting, share-based compensation, foreign currency, derivatives and hedging, and other technical matters. 



  • Possesses knowledge of tax-related financial accounting requirements to ensure the adequacy of quarterly and annual tax provisions. 



  • Coordinates, develops and maintains internal control processes and documentation. 



  • Contribute to the assessment, documentation, and implementation of new accounting standards. 



  • Provide technical accounting support for M&A transactions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration. 



  • Collaborate with other departments to address technical accounting issues and provide accounting support for various business initiatives. 



  • Coordinate activities with external auditors to support their audit and review procedures. 



  • Performs other related duties as assigned.   


 


Education and Experience: 



  • Accounting Degree Required 



  • Background should include a minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on technical accounting and financial reporting. Experience in a public accounting firm or in a publicly traded company is preferred. 


 


Certifications: 



  • Certified Public Accountant required. 


 


Skills



  • Strong understanding of US GAAP with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards. 



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 



  • Experience with reporting software (Workiva) or other related software. 



  • Experience with ERP preferred (SAP) or other related software. 



  • Demonstrated ability to think critically. 



  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and successfully meet tight deadlines. 



  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.  



  • Maintains information in an organized manner and accessible, maintains efficient workspace, and manages time well. 



  • Defines appropriate goals, works toward achieving goals, articulates vision and steps for achievement.  



  • Understands facets of the job, is aware of duties and responsibilities, and keeps job knowledge current.

Travel


Travel required locally or long-distance up to <5% of the time for work-related meetings and functions. 


 


Equipment: 


Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to the position.   


 


Mental and Physical Demands: 


General office and sedentary. Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing up to 30 pounds.  


Maintain emotional control under stress, work with interruptions and deadlines. 


May work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 


 


Environmental Factors:   


Occasional exposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Occasional exposure to weather related conditions when working in an outdoor environment.
