Responsibilities:



Accounting Functions



  • Account reconciliation review.

  • Cash Management

  • Financial Reporting

  • Assist in Annual audit.

  • Accounts Payable.

  • Month-end closing includes accruals, journal entries, and cost allocation.

  • Fixed Asset Management.

  • System improvement recommendations.

  • Budget preparation and management.


Contractor, Special Grant, and Accounts Payable Support


  • Reviews and aids in the planning of contractor and special grant budgets.

  • Processes contractor and special grant expenditures and reimbursements.

  • Processes vendor and overhead invoices.

  • Reviews and monitors contractor monthly cost summaries, budget amendments, and closeout packages.

  • Prepares invoices due to WSA for facility use by contractors and other agencies.


Other Functions


  • Works on special contracts and projects as assigned.

  • May attend committee and contractor meetings.

  • Demonstrable ability to work with staff, plan contract management, and coordinate financial programs, to plan procedures and coordinate complex accounting operations, to interpret laws and regulations, and to interpret and apply advanced accounting theory.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills.

Desired Skills:



Knowledge of the agency's fiscal program, budget control methods, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to financial operations of the agency. Knowledge of GAAP required.

  • Knowledge and experience with governmental/non-profit accounting required.

  • Working knowledge of Cost Allocation Plans.

  • Working knowledge of Cash Management and reconcile funds drawn monthly from grantor.

  • Working knowledge on closing grants in a timely manner.

  • Working knowledge to do audit schedule.

  • Working knowledge of SEFA/SESA.

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and act as a mentor to co-workers.

  • Working knowledge of reconciling all balance sheet accounts.

  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft products required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in writing, editing, speaking, and listening. Proficiency in reading; writing, and speaking English is required.

  • Ability to multi-task, to work under pressure, and to meet challenging deadlines is required.


Education: 



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited four-year college or university, with a minimum of 12 semester hours in accounting and a minimum of three (3) to five plus (5+) years (i.e., Accountant II, minimum 3 years; Accountant III, 5+ years) of full-time experience in accounting.

  • Two years of full-time experience in accounting or auditing may be substituted for each 30 semester hours of the required education.
