St. Mary's University of San Antonio, a private, Catholic and Marianist university invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month contract, renewable faculty position in the Department of Biological Sciences at the rank of instructor beginning January 2025. We are seeking a life scientist with teaching expertise at the university level to teach Anatomy and Physiology I & II lectures and labs for primarily nursing and exercise & sports science majors, and other courses in the department as needed.


Qualifications:



  • PhD in Biological Sciences or related life science discipline; ABD candidates with an expected completion date within one year of appointment will be considered.

  • Experience teaching undergraduates at the university level

  • Ability to engage students using best-practice pedagogy


Responsibilities:



  • Teach four sections (lectures and labs) per semester

  • Develop and teach Anatomy and Physiology I and II lectures and labs for nursing and EXSS students

  • Teach other courses in biological sciences as assigned

  • Contribute to the University's Marianist educational mission (https://marianistuniversities.org/)
