FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Cemetery Manager

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00 pm


Summary: The Cemetery Associate I (CA I) will provide general support to include office reception, administrative duties and assisting families. The CA I will assist with the details regarding services to clients, families, and will be the first point of contact of the cemetery. The CA I will assist with the smooth operation of the office which also includes assisting other office and grounds personnel with administrative details.


Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  • * Answer phones, interoffice communication, schedule appointments and services
  • * Assists families that come into the office and provide prompt and courteous service
  • * Provides general administrative support to include but not limited to daily deposits, work orders and filing
  • * Assist families with merchandise purchases that are relative to grave, crypt or niche
  • * Assist visitors inquiring about burial locations
  • * Ensure that interments are recorded properly and on a timely basis
  • * Maintain information in customer accounting software (Plotbox) to include entering all records and some contracts into accounting software
  • * Understand and apply knowledge of cemetery policy in order to assist families and coworkers
  • * Assists as needed with the memorial application process
  • Assist families that come into the office with concerns regarding cemetery policy
  • Provide other internal cemetery locations with daily interment lists
  • Prepares certificate of ownership documentation as needed
  • Assists with the audit procedures and inventory
  • Assist in trust processing as needed
  • Maintain a clean work area and assist with the upkeep of common areas
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree preferred

Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of working in an office environment providing customer service and administrative support

License and Credentials:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license
  • Valid vehicle insurance

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other computer related equipment.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
