Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY


The Database/Reporting Analyst will support Goodwill Industries of San Antonio by applying systems analysis and design skills in record keeping and database management.  The individual will assist the Lead Database/Reporting Analyst in developing and maintaining MS Access databases, make recommendations on enhancements to processes and systems, and provide technical reporting that is critical for the management of the Air Force and Army Service Treatment Record Processing Center contracts.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Build simple and complex technical reports including tables, graphs, and charts required by Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) through the use of MS Access and Excel

  2. Assist the Lead Database/Reporting Analyst with producing daily, weekly, monthly and annual performance metrics as required by contract through the use of simple and complex queries

  3. Process complex and lengthy technical reports which include tables, graphs, charts, or multiple columns.

  4. Produce monthly reports listing incomplete medical records received from Military Treatment Facilities.

  5. Analyze and synthesize data and provide presentations, information, and recommendations on the data to key customers.

  6. Assist the Lead Database/Reporting Analyst with maintaining and managing all assigned databases.

  7. Review proposals consisting of objectives, scope, and user expectations; gathers facts, analyzes data, and determining alternatives in terms of cost, time, availability and recommends course of action

  8. Conduct research and analysis and make recommendations regarding improvement opportunities (systems, databases, processes, etc.)

  9. Determine and resolve multi-user database through troubleshooting and debug actions

  10. Orient users on new user functionality or changes to database design or procedures.

  11. Assist team members and database users with training and basic technical support as needed.

  12. Coordinates regularly with Goodwill IT team and customers on technology and database enhancement opportunities.

  13. Participate on Unit and Agency projects or teams.

  14. Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.


REQUIREMENTS



  1. High School diploma or GED with some technical training or college education in computer science, information technology or related discipline. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related discipline preferred.

  2. Minimum 2 years’ experience scripting SQL and VBA; advanced skill and experience in MS Access and Excel; 1+ years’ reporting and data analysis experience.

  3. SQL server experience and experience working within a military or contracting environment a plus. Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or military training will be considered. 

  4. Ability to perform work at computer in office environment.

  5. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

  6. For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
